剧情：
阿寅（渥美清 饰）在一个小岛的墓地休息时，遇到了来祭拜祖母的阿文（松坂庆子 饰），阿文在大阪工作，而她的奶奶选择留在小岛上。然而现在她的奶奶已经去世了，所以阿文来到墓地看望她思念的奶奶。后来在大阪，阿寅再次遇见了阿文，才知道原来外表典雅、文静的阿文是一名艺伎，她是有许多应酬的头牌。
在交谈中，阿文告诉阿寅她有个失散多年的弟弟，弟弟在五六岁时离开，现在应该已经有近20年了。阿寅鼓励她寻找弟弟，并陪同她去找弟弟工作的工地，结果却得知弟弟一个月前突然因心脏病发作去世了，大家已经替他料理了后事。这个消息让阿文非常悲伤，她来到弟弟整洁的宿舍，意识到她在这个世界上已经失去了唯一的亲人，这让她感到无比凄凉。阿文回到家后，阿寅仍然对她念念不忘，直到她来到银屋看望大家，并带来了她要结婚的好消息，她准备和丈夫回小岛开一家小寿司店。阿寅无奈地再次尝到失恋的苦涩滋味。
